Snow and Ice in Dallas, TX

Snow and ice made its way to Dallas Texas where I thought it would be desert, cowboy hats and cactus. (My Rental Car under that tree)

Dallas Distribution yard was closed and was told to better stay in the hotel room instead of heading in. Dallas is not set up to handle snow and sleet on roads. Local news channels reminded me why I shouldn't be out there. The coverage was all about vehicles crashing into center dividers and each other. The Dallas distribution has a weather hotline which let me know to come in when I felt safe to drive in, that was very helpfull. Once it melted quite a bit, around noon, I chose to cautiously make my way to the office.

Luckily I had my FreeBirds loyalty card to help me scrape the ice off my car windshield. (Understandably there was no ice scraper in the Hertz Dallas rental car)

Learnings
-Not all cities are equipped to handle all weather conditions. Be prepared.
-Better to make it to your destination than to not make it at all.
-Check to see if your Distribution Center has a hotline for weather or closure advisories.
