Yesterday I received a call 3 times from the same number. The short version is that it was a pre-recorded message saying they were the IRS wanting to collect and to call a specific number for instructions. I did look up to see if there was a proper reporting channel as I did get the number they wanted to be contacted at. I found the link below had information about the scam and two places to report it to. I did submit requests to both. Here is the link:

I have no reason to believe the callers have any actual identity information for me. It was a recording it was highly generic and did not say who they were calling for. Some thieves do call directly and have some identity information which makes it seem more legitimate. As the link says, though, the IRS will always mail first if there actually is a problem.
I thought twice in a week was bad. Thanks for the alert.
