Cross Training Dealer Yard Safety -- PPE Expectations

While working in Centennial recently, I was speaking with David Grange.  In an effort to continuously improve the exposure of the SQA group to the Stellar software, David will be participating in a NextPhase EasyPack implementation in Q3.  David asked how he could beeter prepare for that event, and I asked him about his access to PPE for a dealer yeard; hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility vest, gloves, optional ear plugs, and steel toed boots (or slip on steel toe coverings).

David asked if that was necessary, for participating in software training.  I explained that a NextPhase implementation is about software installation and training, typically in an offcie environment, but that visits to the yard, for inventory checking, and to the cutting station also occur.  For those activities, PPE would be required.  I also mentioned some sites require PPE to cross through the yard to get to the offices, so it would possibly be needed for that as well.

David will be procuring the PPE, to be prepared and safe while he participates in the NextPhase EasyPack implementation.

  1. Great way to show the "courage to intervene" by sharing the importance of safety PPE. Thanks for your safety leadership.
