First check this out
TL/DR: Standing desks have their draw backs too. Standing too long causes blood to pool in the lower extremities and can lead to other difficulties. The main take away here is movement. I should be getting up and moving around every 45 minutes. Maybe to the kitchen to get a glass of water, to the bathroom on the other side of the house instead of the one a few steps from my office door, go outside and water the plants, anything. Since we usually need to see in order to walk, this walking period also helps in lowering eye strain. Getting the blood moving can fend off that 'I just wanna sleep for a minute' feeling around 2:30 if things are quiet. Standing up once in a while is good. Walking around often is way better.
