Working at home and phone calls

1. One of my most important pieces of equipment working from my house is my headset.  Unfortunately at my local office supply store there is only a couple of choices.  I advise making sure you have a good model. I purchased the low end model twice and I am now on my third headset.

2. Callbacks from your home number (the good and the bad).
For a while I turned on the feature that hid my home phone number when making outbound calls.  What I found out was customers would not pick up the phone so I was always leaving messages or they would pick up in the middle of me leaving a voice mail.  I have since turned that feature off I no longer have the issue with customers not answering when I call them back. I do occasionally have customer now call me at home number.  If I recognize the number I will answer it during work hours, but not afterwards. If I don't recognize the number I will screen the call, even at night.

(usually a #and 2-digit code to turn off and on)
