Start Planning for Planting your Veggies - Its Healty!

Yes, some of y'all are still under snow, but here in Charlotte we've already got seeds in the ground for Carrots, Lettuce, Broccoli, and Peas.  And I'll bet Holly's itching to get some baby seedlings started in her greenhouse!  If we haven't convinced you to take a stab at growing your own veggies yet, here are 4 more reasons to get out and scratch around in a garden (thanks MSN):

  1. Planning on doing mostly cold crops this year, beets, spinach, carrots, broccoli and lettuce along with basil, oregano, cilantro and mint.

  2. Does anyone have any suggestions for veggies that grow in partial sun? I don't want to move our garden boxes this year, but I want to grow something.

    Maybe focus on herbs? Tomatos did okay last year, just don't know what else would be okay with where we have the boxes?

    1. Lettuce, spinach or collards. Lettuce is easy for the little ones to pick as well, and comes in many colors!

  3. I got two 50 year old blueberry bushes plated this weekend! They provide lots of Vitamins and antioxidants :) Next to come are some raspberries and blackberries!!

    1. Jealousness! I made it to Lowe's last weekend but the Berry plants haven't made it in the ground yet. And at the end of the fencerow, we're putting in a Fig Tree!
